Tanzania – Microlot – Iyula Peaberry

As quickly as it arrived is as quickly as it left. The ‘Tanzania’ was an incredibly subtle bean, tart with acidity and a backdrop of sweetness and floral tea like flavors.

In a light city we found acidity to be the star of the show, a heaping pile of citrus like flavors coated your mouth on the first taste. Moving forward in the roast the acidity mellowed out, always maintaining the star but allowing subtly sweet floral notes to break through. We found this bean truly shined in a city level roast, where all of the aforementioned balancing of flavors took place to make this a truly unique bean.
